Eleanor Gwyn-Jones lives in Scranton, Pennsylvania, but originally hails from Surrey, England. Huzzah! She studied biology at Southampton University before taking to the stage as an actress, agent and administrator of a touring theatre company. She performed in theatres, studios, schools and festivals across the British Isles before moving to the States. It was whilst visa-dangling and unable to take on acting work that she started to write and decided she far preferred it to anything else in the world! In 2008, Eleanor started her own ‘at home’ business to afford her more time to be with her ‘book babies.’ Now she spends her time writing by day and teaching ladies to look fabulous at night. She is a travel junkie—it’s research, darling, research!—a gourmand, a yogi, a sometime blogger and she adores her family and friends beyond all measure. She is currently putting the finishing key strokes to the sequel to Theatricks, due for release in 2014.

Sometimes a dream is big and time is short. Alison Oburia was working on her PhD when the idea for her first novel, Passion Fish, came to her in a dream. Instead of finishing her dissertation, she turned all of her energy toward writing her first novel with co-author Jessica McQuinn. Her second effort, a short story called “The Bridge,” was published in a collection of short stories available in Omnific’s A Valentine Anthology. Now that the author bug has bitten, Alison spends nearly every night writing. "Sarah, the truth is, you'll find me, wherever you are."

William and Sarah grew up being the best of friends. But as the two grow they come to realized that  the feelings they have for each other is much more than friendship. When a scary encounter makes them realize that life is too short, both reveal their feelings of each other. During their time together they make each other promises they have no doubt they will keep. Because not Margaret, Sarah's evil nemesis, or anything else can get in the way of their love.

Until the struggles of her family drives them apart.

Promising to always find each other, Sarah and William are separated by circumstances that are out of their hands. With a promise to always find their way back to each other and keep in touch, both part ways. But with distance and no communication, things change.

In California, Sarah and her family move in with old friends and there she meets Adley. At first things are just fine between both. Until Sarah is tempted by her feelings and what her body craves. Adley is sweet, loving, hardworking, and so gentle. He makes her feel like she has never felt and he also keeps away the sadness of leaving Will. But Adley doesn't only want her friendship and her body. He wants Sarah as a package, heart included. Something he knows he doesn't have. Eventually Sarah struggles with the ultimatum Adley gives her. Leave Will in the past and have a future with Adley or hold onto their love. 

In Colorado, Will has his own battle going on. With the sorrow of missing Sarah and the pressure he has to help provide for his family Will is tempted by what Margaret offers him. A chance to forget, if only for a little while. When unfortunate circumstances befall on his family Will must make the ultimate choice. Hold onto Sarah and his love for her or go forward and provide a reprieve for his family.

In Surrender to Fate we see the beginning of Will and Sarah's growing love for each other and then just when things get juicy it is ripped away from us! At first I thought it was just frustrating. Not to mention that I was already turned off with the lack of connection to Will and the copious details that the author provided, which made the story drag. But then we meet Adley and I must say that this is one book in which I actually am in LOVE with the "other man". The scenes between Adley and Sarah are filled with so much PASSION (both emotional and sexual) you just have to put the book down and have a refreshing drink. I lie to you not. Be warn! :)

So even though I struggle with the two aforementioned issues, I did enjoy the storyline and some of the characters,especially Adley. I know this is Will and Sarah's story but for me, as of book 1, I'm rooting for the other team. I will read the rest of the series to find out what happens!

If you can deal with the two issues in this book then you will enjoy the book.

Born and raised in small town Texas, Tera Shanley grew up in books. Her cousin gifted her a signed copy of Beauty by Bill Wallace when she was young and that was it for her. So smitten was she with getting lost in a story, that while other eleven year olds her age were groaning at the accelerated reader program in school, she was racking up the points just for fun.

Balancing chronic book-wormyness is her devotion to the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, camping - her soul is happiest out of doors. And lucky for Tera, her family feels the same. She grew up a wild child helping her grandma ranch cattle, and has a hundred memories out in the wilderness which tend to influence her books.

MY REVIEW

First I want to start by thanking Cab for providing an ARC of Creatura for me to read and review. I wasn't really convinced on the concept of the book but decided to give the book a try and I must say the book was a interesting read.

Seventeen year old Isis hasn't been able to sleep since the day she meets the creature that lurks in the land she visits. She is terrified of encountering the monster, which makes her try everything to stay awake. When she decides to confront the "creature" that haunts her "nightmares" she realizes that he is quite the opposite of a monster.  And with him comes a whole new look into the world Isis has been living in. A world where human and Deity are forbidden from interacting and where children born out of both are called Creatura and killed.

Although David knows that it is forbidden to communicate with humans he cannot stay away from Isis. When she hands out a dare for him to show he is real he jumps at the chance. But what he doesn't realize is how much more he would want her once he met her outside of her dreams. And what ensues is a sweet romance between him and Isis. A romance that has to remain hidden at all cost.

But their forbidden romance isn't the only danger they face. Not only are they hiding their feelings, but Isis is being stalked by an old ex that refuses to let go. And to top if off they also realize that Isis is much more than what they think. There is a reason why she can pass into the world David lives in. The problem is that without knowing who her father is nothing is for sure.

While Creatura is an interesting read I did find that it would appeal more to a younger audience than to an older audience like me. I found it difficult to connect with the characters and was a bit flustered with the many plotlines mixed into the story and the rush of events that just didn't add to the story.

Even though I wasn't wowed with this story it is filled with many twist and turns and a sweet romance which makes Creatura a good read for young adults.

I will check out any future books from the author and encourage the YA readers to check out this story!
