Forever Changed by Tiffany King

Book Description:

Kassandra Cole has it all—a stable home with great parents, popularity and all the friends she could ever need. She is used to a lifestyle where everything comes easy to her, from good grades to being captain of the cheerleading squad.

Her entire world is shaken to the core when a fatal accident takes her father, causing Kassandra to re-examine the course her life was on. The actions of one individual forever changes her life, leaving her to pick up the pieces of her broken family. Kassandra begins to question everything she once cherished and the people she disappointed along the way.

Maddon Johnson’s life is as different from Kassandra’s as night and day. Abandoned by his mother at a young age, he is left to deal with his abusive, alcoholic father on his own. He has one goal: lay low and get the heck out of dodge as soon as he is legally old enough.

Everything changes when his father’s tragic actions send Maddon crashing into Kassandra’s world. Suddenly, getting away is the last thing he wants as he discovers it is possible to believe in love after all.

Christina's BookReview
"There are moments in everyone’s life that define the type of person you are, and the person you will become."

Kassandra Cole is like any average popular high school senior. She and her friends are all full of their selves and are completely fine with how their lives are going. Everything changes when one of Kassandra’s spoiled brat moments change the course of her entire life. Kassandra begins to realize that she’s taken everything in her life for granted. When her world is turned upside down she battles against the constant solitude, the lost of her friends, and the hatred she has for Maddon Johnson.

Maddon Johnson is used to just blending in with the crowd. Although, he might hang out with the losers of the school, he isn’t one. He is just like every normal guy. When he and Kassandra’s lives intersect he isn’t ready for what comes along with it. Guilt and adoration for the one girl he hasn’t even thought twice about consumes him. If only he could take her pain away and get the chance to take away the anger in her eyes. If only he wasn’t the cause of her anger.

Will these two ever be able to work things out? Will Kassandra learn to forgive the boy who wants to heal her? Read and find out.

I like books that have you feeling all types of emotions. During this read I was sad one moment and then laughing hysterically the next. Kassandra goes through a very difficult situation in anyone’s life and you can’t help but feel her pain. While reading you are put in her shoes and are feeling the same things that she is which makes the read that much more intense. I thought that the whole redemption concept was one that was needed for her. She was a terrible person before her life was turned upside down and I don’t think I could have read a book in which she was like that. I liked that the story began with the tragedy instead of when she was a spoiled brat. You can also understand why she feels the way she does about Maddon, even though you feel bad for him.

Although I enjoyed the book I did think that the beginning was really slow. After Maddon and Kassandra are forced to face their difference it picks up which is a good thing. I enjoyed the way they built their relationship and the way that they were able to handle their situation. I enjoyed all of the moments with Maddon and all the happiness he raises in Kassandra as well as the reader.

The book was a quick at light read. It stays true to the sayings “You don’t know what you have until its gone.” and “Sometimes you have to get hurt so that you can learn to be strong.”

I wished that the ending hadn’t finished so abruptly, which is why I had to give this 4 Stars. I felt like we didn’t get any closure on the relationship between Maddon and the Cole family and felt like it wasn’t really a fulfilling ending.

I did like the book so I do recommend everyone to read it.

Madly (Madly #1) by M. Leighton

Book Description:

Madly is your average nearly-eighteen year old girl—for a princess, that is.

Madly James is thoroughly enjoying her internship in the small town of Slumber when the unthinkable happens—there’s a prison break in Atlas, the magically-protected home of Madly’s race. A traitor has set free eight Lore, the spirits of what humans know as fairy tales, and they are making their way to Slumber to awaken their descendants.

In order to save her home, the lives of her family, and all of humanity, Madly must learn to wield her exceptional powers and recapture the Lore before it’s too late and all is lost. But Madly’s only help are her two best friends and the Sentinel, Jackson Hamilton, that threatens both her heart and her destiny. Madly has loved Jackson as long as she can remember, but he is the one thing even a princess can’t have. Can she resist love to become the queen she was fated to be? Or can she find a way to have both?

This novelette introduces you to Madly and prepares you for the quest of a lifetime.

Christina's BookReview
In Madly you are introduced to the world Madly James belongs to. Madly is not your average girl. She is the princess of Atlas, the underwater home of her people. When Madly is sent to Slumber for an internship she is looking forward to enjoying her time with her friends on dry land. But she is about to discover that things are about to change for her. Not in a good way.

Her home is inhabited by The Lore, eight evil spirits from the fairytales we grew up reading. As they take over Atlas they will awaken their descendant and wreak havoc in Slumber. It is up to Madly to save her people.

Her only help? The arrogant, cold and undeniably gorgeous, Jackson Hamilton.

Jackson is her best friend’s brother and her new Sentinel on dry land. He is also the guy that she once had a major crush on. But years later he isn’t so nice to her anymore. Jackson invokes in her feelings that she is only suppose to have for her betrothed.

With the weight of her people’s lives on her shoulder and the increasing desire for her guard, Madly is about to realize that life is not all about fun. Sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself for the sake of the ones you love.

This novelette prepares you for the adventure that Madly is about to take us on. If you are a fan of M. Leighton which EVERYONE should be! :D Or a fan of love and fairytales', PICK THIS UP! As soon as I read the first page I was fascinated. I finished this in 2 hours and was dying for more. It is AMAZING! A series with a twist to our fairytales! What’s not to LOVE!

I can’t wait to read more!

My Heart for Yours by Jolene Perry & Steph Campbell

Book Description:

For Tobin and Delia, everything was always equal.

A bargain, a trade, a deal to be struck.

A kiss for a kiss.
Your shirt for mine.
Break my heart, I’ll break yours.

Their disastrous split was no different. Tobin’s spent the last year pretending Delia never existed, and Delia’s been in D.C., pretending to be anything but the country girl that she is.

When tragedy brings her back to town, Tobin and Delia realize that time apart hasn't healed either one of them. But staying away from each other is harder than they imagined, especially in small town Louisiana, and old feelings are quickly brought back to the surface.

In the mess they’ve created, is there anything to be salvaged of a love that they both thought would be forever?

Christina's BookReview

“Always a trade. Always a compromise. Until there wasn't anything left to bargain with, because neither one of us had any clue what to do.”
Delia is the daughter of a Senator that is just as pompous and overbearing as anyone would imagine. Her life is all set out for her and she has no choice but to accept that fact. It is why she and Tobin could never be.

Tobin is your typical party boy. He and his brother are as thick as thieves. They live in the moment and live a carefree life. Because of his life, he knows that he will never be enough for Delia.

When they meet both Delia and Tobin aren’t prepared to finally give themselves over to each other. Their relationship was all about bargaining. A kiss for a kiss, a broken heart for a broken heart…

When tragedy strikes Tobin’s life he must finally come face to face with the one girl that once held his heart and broke it. And Delia must return home and deal with the heartache she once drove away from.

As Delia and Tobin are thrown together they will have to finally face what they so long ago destroyed.

Will these two finally clear up their mistakes? Or will they both lose each other?

This book was a very quick read. I liked it but wasn’t fascinated by it. The storyline was good but unfortunately that can only go so far. The characters were bland and had no depth at all. The story takes place in the future with flashbacks to the past. That is what most of the book consist of. I rushed through this because I did want to finish it. I wanted to find out what drove Delia and Tobin apart and when you do it makes you wish that the characters were more believable. It was a topic that could have been broached more in depth.

My Heart for Yours is a good read but it wasn’t a book that I would probably read again.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Book Description:

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

Christina's BookReview

“After all the planets and all the hosts you've left behind, you've finally found the place and the body you'd die for. I think you've found your home, Wanderer.”

Stephenie Meyer brings us a different type of paranormal with The Host. Earth isn’t our world anymore…

Wanderer, a soul, has been placed in the body of eighteen year old human Melanie Stryder. Wanderer is sent to this specific body to seek answers for The Seekers. The problem with this human body is that Melanie will not fade away. Wanderer will have to find a way to get Melanie to leave but in the process she isn’t prepared for what Mel’s memories hold. The little boy and the man were not supposed to matter, but they do. Through Mel’s memories Wanderer begins to love them too. Wanderer and Melanie have to make sure that the Seekers do not harm them. So begins the struggle between a human life and a soul.

As Wanderer and Mel go in search of the boy and man they aren’t prepared for what they stumble into. The man that they love isn’t the same anymore, the boy that is in their memories is not little anymore, and the humans left in the world do not trust Wanderer. As Wanderer works to show the humans that she isn’t there to harm them new friendships are made, new loves, and new enemies are made. The problem is that everything is so confusing with two different emotions in one body. Wanderer and Melanie are at an impasse.

Will Wanderer leave in order to reunite Mel with her loved ones? Will Melanie fade completely? Read and find out!

So I have to start off by saying that the first time I read this I was not impressed. I couldn’t even get halfway through the book so I set it aside. What a mistake! The story does start off a little slow at the beginning but once you get through that bump you begin to immerse yourself in this story. As soon as the action picked up and more characters were introduced I was enthralled. I enjoyed reading about the human base camp and how they lived and fought to not be invaded.

The biggest conflict with the book was choosing a side, Wanderer or Melanie. Two different lives, two different emotions and personalities in one body was confusing as hell. I myself loved Wanderer and enjoyed getting to see how she became accustomed to the human world. From her/Mel’s need to protect Jamie and Jared to her protection of the ones SHE came to love.

The relationship between her and Ian was one that at first I didn’t expect. But then when he started to warm up to her I couldn’t get enough. He protected Wanderer and cared for her like no one had ever done. He loved HER not the body that she was in which made me fall hard for him. He was perfect! He had so many wonderful lines that I wanted to just continue highlighting on my Kindle. One of my faves though was this: “I held you in my hands, Wanderer, and you were beautiful.” Completely had me at that! :D

It was frustrating though, because of course Mel loved Jared, which "made" Wanderer only want Jared. Wanderer “lived” to please Mel and when she finally made a stand for herself I was proud of her. Only through that stand was she able to see how much this world was now her world and I loved that. It’s like when a person wakes up from a coma after many years and needs to become accustomed to the world. Wanderer was introduced to the “human” world and grew to love it and everyone that was a part of it.

The action in this book was scarce but when it did happen it had you on the edge. The journey that Wanderer goes through is what keeps you reading until you just can’t fight to keep your eyes open.

This book may start off a little slow but give it a chance! I was glad I did!

CRASH by Nicole Williams

Book Description:

Southpointe High is the last place Lucy wanted to wind up her senior year of school. Right up until she stumbles into Jude Ryder, a guy whose name has become its own verb, and synonymous with trouble. He's got a rap sheet that runs longer than a senior thesis, has had his name sighed, shouted, and cursed by more women than Lucy dares to ask, and lives at the local boys home where disturbed seems to be the status quo for the residents. Lucy had a stable at best, quirky at worst, upbringing. She lives for wearing the satin down on her ballet shoes, has her sights set on Juilliard, and has been careful to keep trouble out of her life. Up until now.

Jude's everything she needs to stay away from if she wants to separate her past from her future. Staying away, she's about to find out, is the only thing she's incapable of.

For Lucy Larson and Jude Ryder, love's about to become the thing that tears them apart.

Christina's BookReview
“It’s not hard to recognize something special when life’s thrown a lotta shit your way”

Lucy Larson used to have a pretty blessed life. She’s used to having a family that loves her, a great school with great friends, and her dancing. When her family suffers the ultimate heartbreak, things for Lucy suddenly change. Now Lucy must learn to deal with the consequences of that night five years earlier that broke apart her family and her life. She is a different girl. But her spirit isn’t broken. Lucy is dedicated to helping people and figuring out solutions to their problems. But Lucy gets the most complicated of cases when Jude Ryder walks into her life.

Judy Ryder isn’t what you would consider a Prince Charming. Jude doesn’t have a perfect life or even a good one. He has a rap sheet longer than most juveniles and has the temper of a beast. He doesn’t have time for anyone else in the world and especially girls that need more then he’s willing to offer. He believes he is a cancer to anyone he encounters so tends to steer clear of anything that involves time and emotions. When Lucy Larson walks into his life Jude is unexpectedly drawn to her. She pushes him to realize that maybe his past doesn’t have to determine his future, a future that he wishes Lucy to be a part of. But will he be able to change his ways? Or will he push away the one good thing in his life?

Will these two every get a happily ever after? Or will their past forever haunt them? READ TO FIND OUT.

CRASH by Nicole Williams was Phenomenal. I breezed through this entire book in hours. Jude reminds me a lot of Travis Maddox from Beautiful Disaster. He had a rough upbringing, he was a bad boy, and he was a disaster. But what cancels all that out is the caring, loving and devotion that he had inside of him. I felt for Jude what I felt for Travis in Beautiful disaster, Compassion. Jude will borough his way into your heart and claim his place there. I was so sad when I hit that last page because I wanted more of Jude. I wanted to be able to know more about his life pre-Lucy and I wanted to see him finally accept that he wasn’t a cancer. He was fractured not broken.

Lucy will also capture your heart like no other female protag has probably done. From page one you can’t help but like her spunk and like that she is your average “hopeless romantic” but she isn’t the foolish type. You feel all the emotions that she feels throughout the entire book. When you are finally privy to what caused her family to be so fractured you want to just hug her and cry with her through the pain. It has been a long time since I ever felt like that about a character. There were moments I wanted to take her and shake some sense into her because, like normal teenage girls, she is prone to idiocy at times.

Together Lucy and Jude learn what it is to love and to fight for what is real. Through all the rough times you felt the heartbreak over their misunderstanding and then their dilemmas. At times I felt myself wondering if they would ever get their HEA. But lo and Behold, a love like theirs could jump all the obstacles put in their way.

If you loved Beautiful Disaster, do yourself a favor and PICK THIS UP! Even if you didn’t, but love a great love story with real life issues, PICK THIS UP!

Nicole Williams is a GODDESS when it comes to writing about love. I have never been disappointed with her books and have devoured each and every one of them in hours!

The Wild Ones by M. Leighton

Book Description:

Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.

Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines. She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.

But that was before she met Patrick Henley.

“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her. He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her. And Trick needs his job. Desperately.

His family depends on him.The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles. At least the ones they know of.

When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart.

Christina's BookReview
"One day you'll know what it's like to love someone like that, to want to be with them every second of every day, to crave their company and their touch more than anyone else's."

Camille(Cami)Hines is the daughter of a prominent thoroughbred breeder. She has it all, a great family, a bright future and a great friend and boyfriend. When Cami arrives home for the summer he intention is to learn more about her fathers business and spend time hanging out with her best friend, Jenna. All of her plans change when Cami finally meets Patrick (Trick) Henley.

Trick Henley has a different life then Cami. He spends his days working and night drowning his sorrows with a bottle of Patron. Trick has dreams of being able to train and tame wild horses. Unfortunately he has no way of accomplishing them, because of his family issues. If Trick thought his life was complicated enough it is about to get twice as complicated. That complication comes in the form of, Cami Hines, his bosses daughter.

When the two meet they are instantly drawn to each other. As they continue to "bump" into each other the two fight relentlessly to not want each other. Trick needs his job and will not put it in jeopardy, Cami will not be the cause of Trick losing his job and his only source of income. Unfortunately they were both lost in each other since their first encounter. Will these two be able to jump all the hurdles they are about to encounter? Or will there different lives drive them apart? Pick up The Wild Ones and find out!

Picking up this book was the best thing I did! I cannot express how much I enjoyed reading Tricks and Cami story. These two are completely opposite but completely similar as well. Trick has dreams and he has the will and strength to accomplish them. He is one put together male protag and that is what will make you fall head over heels for him. There aren't many times where you meet a hot, smart, loving, and funny accomplished male protag. I loved being able to get his POV because it opens you up to his life and his wants and needs. From the moment Cami notices the green-grey eyes of Trick and hear his first words you are instantly lost to him. Trick will have you wanting him to show you his Treats throughout the whole book! Cami will not be the only girl wanting to be in his presence at all time.

Cami is a pretty headstrong female protag and I liked that she wasn't a pushover like most girls are in the books. She was sweet, caring, and had spunk which always makes a book easier to read. Although she was raised as a spoiled princess she didn't let her family's wealth diminish her personality or morals in any way. From her loving relationship with her maid to her close relationship with her best friend, you learn that she is like any regular girl. Her feelings about wanting to protect the people she cares and loves for will have all the readers endeared to her. I liked her because she fought for what she wanted but also tried to protect it as well. Trick was lost to her from the moment he saw her fiery red hair and blush.

I Loved Loved this book! I loved all the steamy moments between Trick and Cami and loved their relationship. Like many relationships, they had their struggles, but they couldn't fight what their hearts wanted. If you want to read a hot, steamy romance pick this up! You will not be disappointed. M. Leighton has given us all ANOTHER swoon worthy guy that will keep us up reading to all hours of the night and ANOTHER headstrong girl that will have us rooting for her HEA.

Pick this up and get both, Trick and his Treats! :-)

Because of Low by Abbi Glines

Book Description:

In my debut novel, Breathe, Sadie may have fallen in love with the teen rock star, Jax Stone, but readers fell head over heels for Marcus Hardy. This is his story…

Marcus Hardy had hoped to enjoy a year away at college while he put the summer he’d rather forget behind him. But instead, he’s jerked right back to the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama due to a family crisis. His dear ol' dad found himself a girlfriend only a few years older than Marcus. So now his sister needs help dealing with their mother who is mentally falling apart. The only bright spot to returning is the fascinating red head who sleeps over several times a week. The problem is she's sleeping in bed with his new roommate, Cage York.

Willow “Low” Foster needs a place to live. Running to Cage’s apartment every time her sister kicks her out isn’t exactly a long term solution. Juggling her courses at the local community college and a part time job doesn’t produce excess income. But Cage has a new roommate and suddenly sleeping over at her best friend’s apartment isn’t such a bad thing. Not when she gets to see those sexy green eyes of Marcus Hardy’s twinkle when he smiles at her like he wants her there.
Even though Cage seems a little territorial where Low is concerned, Marcus finds time to spend with Low without upsetting his roommate. Cage may use his small college baseball star persona to sleep with every hot female in his path but he’s still under the disillusion that when he’s through sowing his wild oats, he’s going to marry Low. Marcus intends to change that assumption for both Cage and Low. Until his carefully laid plans come crashing down with a revelation he never expected. He’ll have to choose between Low or his family. Because once the truth comes out.... there’s no other choice.

Christina's BookReview
"Things happen in life and you can’t control them. It sucks and you have to move on."

Marcus Hardy is the guy that lost Sadie White to a Rock Star. Leaving Sea Breeze made the heartbreak easier. But Marcus is back in Sea Breeze for good. Not because he wanted it that way. Things would have been easier if he stood away. Unfortunately Marcus didn't get his wish. After dropping out of college for online courses Marcus returns home to deal with a good old fashion family drama. He doesn't have time for anything, other then his family and his classes, including any relationship with a girl.

Willow(Low)Foster has been dealing with her own issues all her life. Growing up with a mother that didn't even care if she existed and a sister that berated her was not easy. Low is used to people she love leaving her. Her only safe haven being her player of a best friend, Cage.

Cage is a playboy. He loves girls, sex and baseball, but Willow is his weak spot. Cage loves her and intends on marrying her someday. Willow assures him that he has false hope because he's like her brother. But Cage doesn't think that.

When Marcus moves in with Cage a series of events unfold. Marcus didn't know that any girl could make him feel the way Willow does. Low didn't expect to feel the way she does around Marcus. Will Low be able to find a safe place with anyone other then Cage? Will Marcus be able to show her she can trust him? Will the two be able to overcome the curve-balls they are thrown? Read and find out.

I was so excited that Marcus would have his own book that I jumped right into it. Marcus Hardy is what dreams are made of. Sweet, loving, caring, considerate and damn Sexy. What isn't there to love? As we all witnessed Marcus was not Sadie's choice in Breathe and it turns out that she isn't. Marcus and Willow are one steamy couple. You can't help but love the time they spend together and smile every time he showers her with love.

Willow is a good girl with a feisty attitude and that makes you instantly like her. I enjoyed seeing her interaction with all the characters. From her love for Cage to her loving adoration for her niece. I liked that even though she had her issues she didn't let anyone stomp on her, except her sister but that was because of her niece. I even liked that she didn't put up with Marcus' crap when he wasn't himself.

Why the 4.5 stars? Even though I enjoyed this book I thought something was missing. I felt like Marcus and Willow bypassed the "bonding" part of their relationship. They did interact but they never trusted each other enough to let each other in on their problems. Not until the end and that was quickly forgiven. Which leads me to Low forgiving Marcus too quickly when the misunderstandings started. And Marcus getting over Sadie so quickly was a bit unrealistic as well. The half star is for Cage because he's just Bad Boy HOTT! :-) Read and you'll see what I mean.

Other then those things Because of Low was a great story of family, love and trust. If you read Breathe and LOVED Marcus, read this! I will be moving on to While it Lasts next to read Cage's story! Great job to Ms. Glines for giving us a shit load of hot male characters to fantasize about! :)

Breathe by Abbi Glines

Book Description:

Sadie White's summer job isn't going to be on the beach life-guarding or working at rental booths like most kids her age. With her single mother's increasing pregnancy and refusal to work, Sadie has to take over her mother's job as a domestic servant for one of the wealthy summer families on a nearby island.

When the family arrives at their summer getaway, Sadie is surprised to learn that the owner of the house is Jax Stone, one of the hottest teen rockers in the world. If Sadie hadn't spent her life raising her mother and taking care of the house she might have been normal enough to be excited about working for a rock star.

Even though Sadie isn't impressed by Jax's fame, he is drawn to her. Everything about Sadie fascinates Jax but he fights his attraction. Relationships never work in his world and as badly as he wants Sadie, he believes she deserves more. By the end of the summer, Jax discovers he can't breathe without Sadie.

Christina's BookReview
“You’re every song I have ever sung. I’ll never let anything hurt you again. For the first time in my life, my dreams aren’t about me.” I lifted my eyes up to meet his, and he smiled. “They’re about you.”

Sadie White isn't your average teenager. She isn't in to all the drama, all the swooning over stars, or making friends. Sadie is a very grown up seventeen year old. Her life consists of taking care of her pregnant mother and worrying about bills and rent. So when summer comes around and schools out, Sadie is forced to go to work to support herself and her mother. She will be taking her mother’s position as a maid in the lush home of Jax Stone, the teenage Rock Superstar. But Sadie only cares about making money to make ends meet not some snobby rich star. She could work for Jax Stone without being affected. Sadie is about to find out that she is being delusional.

Jax Stone isn't everything the public makes him to be out. Jax Stone loves his career but loves going home every summer. He seeks out the quiet and peacefulness found in his hometown of Sea Breeze. Nothing can happen that could change his life during three months, he just needs a break. Jax Stone is about to find out that he is also being delusional.

After Jax and Sadie meet Jax is instantly attracted to the blond hair blue eyes beauty. What makes it so much sweeter is knowing that she isn't affected by his stardom. To the point where she doesn't even listen to his music. With that in mind Jax welcomes the breath of fresh air Sadie brings to his life. As they grow closer and get to know each other more they can't help but be scared of what is happening. They are falling in love but know that they only have three months of being together. Life must go on for Jax after the Summer. There is no place for Sadie in his whirlwind life.

Can these two make it through the summer? Will hearts be broken? Read and find out!

First off let me tell you that I totally devoured this book in hours! Many people criticized this book as cheesy and not so great but I'm glad I didn't listen and read this. Yes Jax totally was cheesy in some parts but he was just perfect. He had me smiling from ear to ear with his beautiful words and protective nature. Jax totally has the melting hearts gig down packed. :-) And just to make you swoon more check out Jax's song to Sadie "Don't Cry" HERE

I enjoyed that Sadie wasn't a blubbering mess of a girl fan but I was upset that she was such a push over. Her mother was a terrible mother and she just took it without protesting. She also seemed to push Marcus and his friend’s away right after Jax showed up and I thought that was rude of her. Totally understood why she wanted to be with Jax and adored him for wanting to be apart of her world but she seemed to only want to be with him ALL the time!

And Marcus, I have to talk about Marcus because he just made this book receive the last 1/2 star in rating. If I adored Jax, then I LOVED Marcus. Talk about sweet, caring, protective and so amazing! Although he wasn’t the one for Sadie he didn’t stop being her best friend. He wanted her to be happy and if her happiness was Jax then he could accept it. I was sad for him but I knew Sadie was not the one for him. I can’t wait to read his story next! :-) A whole book of Marcus is just what is needed after Breathe!

A Marcus quote that just made me love him more: “I used to think he didn’t deserve your love, but now I think he may just be as in love with you as you are with him. I want you to be happy, and if he makes you happy, then that’s all that matters.”

If you want to read a summer romance, pick up Breathe. It is chuck full of romance, sweet quotes and more than two great guys! You will not be disappointed.

Blood Like Poison: Destined for a Vampire by M. Leighton

Book Description

Ridley Heller thought that all her problems would be over if she could have Bo back—back from the dead. But what Ridley didn’t know was that her wish would come at a price.

Bo survived a condition that would have killed a lesser vampire, or any vampire for that matter. The only reason he didn’t die is because of who he is, someone Ridley doesn’t know at all. Someone Bo himself doesn’t know at all.

As Ridley gets closer to finding out Bo’s true identity, she discovers that loving him could also come at a price, a price much higher than she ever could have imagined. The question is: is there any such thing as a price too high to pay for Bo? For his love, for his safety, for eternity in his arms

Christina's BookReview
"Whatever the future held, I was going to enjoy the present. I was going to live and love like there was no tomorrow. For all I knew, that might be the case. At the rate I was going, on any given day there was a distinct possibility that tomorrow might never come."

In this second installment of the Blood Like Poison series Ridley is faced with alot more then she can handle. New enemies, new complications, life without Bo and juggling a "normal" teenage life. On top of all that she has to deal with the consequences of what happened to Devon and Savannah.

As Ridley comes to terms with what exactly Bo is she has to deal with also being lonely. Without Bo beside her Ridley must battle her own set of Vampires. Vampires that are suddenly all out to get her, for reasons she doesn't understand. When Ridley discovers that she isn't hallucinating and does in fact have Bo back she is relieved. She tries to be happy with having Bo back in some form but it isn't easy when she is being hunted. Will Bo be able to save her? Or will he be to late? Read and find out.

I was looking forward to delving back into Bo and Ridley's story and wasn't disappointed. The story starts off with Ridley finding out that Bo is more then a simple Vampire. He is so much more and I was excited when what I expected was in fact correct! I have to say that I did miss having Bo in this book like we did in the first. With his situation it isn't easy for him to be with Ridley and that sucked. With his absence Ridley has to deal with alot and also makes some very stupid mistakes but in the end she is the most help of all.

The only reason this book only got 4 stars is because Bo was absent alot and it frustrated me as much as it did Ridley. Another reason was because although I ADORE Bo I was annoyed that he just showed up extra late whenever something happened to Ridley. I guess I sort of wanted him to be the hero in the book but found that Ridley was instead. More power to her. though. :-) In his defense with his condition it wasn't possible for him to be around all the time.

But the times that he was there for her were so worth it! I found myself smiling and giddy whenever he was around. He definitely lived up to the saying "distance makes the heart grow fonder" but I must add "and the body grow hotter"...LOL Trust me, read and find out. :-)

With that said, pick up the second book! Its filled with just as much action and romance! Mrs. Leighton gave us Bo and you wouldn't want to miss out on him! :-)

Text Me, Guido by Adrian Staccato

Book Description:

"Text Me, Guido" is the debut novel from author Adrian Staccato, and the first in a planned series. Told entirely through text-messaging conversations, the book follows five Italian-American college friends as they complete their final semester of school.

They are: Enzo, Sofia, Giulia, Claudia, and Phil.

Enzo is your typical bronze-tanned Guido. The son of a wealthy home builder, he spends his days at the gym and his nights at the club. When he’s not buying drinks for his friends, he’s showering his longtime girlfriend, Sofia, with gifts – making her the envy of the neighborhood. Her friends, Giulia and Claudia, secretly hope the two will break it off, but Sofia is set on marriage and eagerly awaits Enzo’s proposal.

Enzo’s friend, Phil, is the outcast of the group. He dislikes to party, and attributes the “Jersey Shore lifestyle” to the decline of civilization. Nevertheless, he finds himself infatuated with Giulia – a crush since kindergarten. Giulia, however, is wildly insecure and has no interest in his bookish ways. She has her heart set on Enzo – and with a little maneuvering, she might just get what she wants!

Enzo is in love with Sophia.Giulia is in love with Enzo. Phil has a crush on Giulia. And Claudia is just looking for someone to be with.

Through a series of text messages, this gang of “friends” live their everyday life. Reality TV style. Like every group of friends on reality TV, there are the following:

Enzo- The Jock
Sophia- The Prom Queen
Giulia- The Easy One
Claudia-The Friendly One
Phil-The Studious one

These friends live everyday partying it up and reveling in the drama of being complete opposites. Through the messages you learn that not everyone in their group is a friend. With friends like these who needs enemies? Will their friendship survive the craziness?

When you first look at the cover and the synopsis you might think it’s the not the type of book you’re used to reading. And you’re right. Text Me, Guido is compiled of a series of text messages sent between the five friends. It is completely different from what people are used to. This book has the possibility of being liked or being hated. It isn’t for everyone. I personally enjoyed it. From the beginning you are thrown into the lives of each friend and know that they are a crazy bunch. You immediately know you are in for a Reality TV style drama. Backstabbing friends, outrageous partying, and snobby girlfriends, what more proof do you need? :)
By far my favorite two characters in the whole book were Phil and Claudia. They were both pretty level-headed and you can’t help but root for them to be together. Like every person that sees Reality TV, everyone will root for their own people. I personally HATE reality TV, so with Claudia and Phil being the only “real” characters, it was easy to like them.

My only complaint? That it was just all messages. I found myself wishing that I knew what happened during the time when they weren’t texting. The time in which most of the things mentioned, happened. Like in reality through messages you only get the short version and that’s what we got in the book. I was craving the detailed version.

The author had me craving more at the end with the HUGE cliffhanger. So many questions left unanswered…

If you want to try something different and laugh a little try this book!
